Circus Central Capital Fundraising Launch

On 3 March 2011 the NECDT hosts the official launch of their Circus Central £1.5 million capital fundraising bid at Christ Church. We are seeking support for the development of the Christ Church buildings, Shieldfield in central Newcastle upon Tyne, into a specialist training centre for Circus. This will be the only circus training building offering professional level facilities between Sheffield and Glasgow and will act as a training hub for Youth Circus Excellence for the NE region as well as providing social circus classes for adults and children. Representatives from the partners will be present with Young people from the youth circus and professional teachers and performers.

The event will be celebrated with circus activities and words of support from guests. Attending will be supporters of the project including David Faulkner, Leader of Newcastle City Council. Thanks will be given to our partners Christ Church Parish and Christ Church CE Primary School and to our funders (Newcastle City Council, Ouseburn Ward, Arts Council England, Sir James Knot Trust, Church Urban Fund, Let’s Circus) for their support for and confidence which have brought us to this pivotal point.
